A Message from Our Founders
The Pilates Pod has always been more than just a studio; it’s a community.
It’s where people come to feel stronger, healthier, and more connected.
It’s where smiles, friendships, and little moments of triumph happen every day.
Now, we are facing one of the biggest milestones in our journey.
We have to move to a new home, and we need your help to make it happen.

Why Are We Moving?
Unfortunately, our building will be undergoing significant refurbishment and repairs and as such, we must leave our current space at 107 Bancroft soon. We’re glad to report that after a long search, we’ve finally found an exciting new location, still in the heart of Hitchin, at lucky number 13 Bancroft!
It wasn’t our choice to move, but these things happen. That said, moving and setting up again comes with a lot of additional costs which were not in our budget. Although we’re being careful, these are just some of the jobs and costs we’ll have to dig deep to find the money for.
We’ve borrowed as much as we can afford to make the move possible, but the rates that were available to us were many times higher than the last time we made significant investment, which was when we went to a fully classical studio.

Introducing: The Pod Pledge
The Pod Pledge is our campaign to ask for your support.
Your pledges, big or small, will help us reach our goal and support us in moving into our new home. It’ll help us enormously to enable us to continue doing what we love most; bringing health, wellness, and connection to Hertfordshire and beyond.
This isn’t just about rebuilding. It’s about preserving a place that has changed lives for the better over the past 13 years. A unique place that so many call their “safe space.”
Where Your Money Will Go:
Every pound pledged, every skill donated, and every pair of hands that help, will go directly towards the project and in creating a new evolved Pod with still the warm, welcoming space that we are known for, and for everyone to enjoy.
Your support will quite literally help us lay the foundation for the future of The Pilates Pod.
How You Can Help:
🧡Make a Pod Pledge🧡
Did you know that the orange heart emoji means you’re expressing an affinity with or appreciation and is commonly used to represent love, support, close bonds, and admiration – all things that The Pilates Pod represents.
- Monetary pledge. Whatever you feel comfortable giving. Every single amount makes a huge difference.
- Skills pledge. We are looking for skilled decorators, electricians, builders, glaziers, plumbers, carpenters, cleaners who would pledge the their voluntary labour time and services.
- Hands to help. We need people to help us pack, lift things, move things across the road, clean, fix, put things up, make things look good, keep us in coffee and food! It’s a lot to do in a short space of time so as they say, many hands make light work!
- Van use. We need to borrow a van to collect our new apparatus that’s currently being made by Legacy, in Turkey, and will be heading to London for us to collect.
- Skip. We are going to need a skip for all the refurbishment process.
